This is a software tool that lets you convert PDF files to images in PCX or the PC Exchange format.
PCX is an image file format developed by the now-defunct ZSoft Corporation and is the native file format for PC Paintbrush. PCX is the abbreviation of “Personal Computer eXchange”. This became a widely used standard in the early days of the PC and is not very prevalent now. PCX files commonly stored palette-indexed images ranging from 2 or 4 colors to 16 and 256 colors and has been extended to record true-color (24-bit) images as well. PDF to PCX Console Converter enables you to convert PDF through the command line interface. It will let you set color resolution, image height and width, X and Y resolution in DPI to image files, decrypt password protected file with password, and trim PDF pages at the same time when you convert PDF to PCX.
This tool is not for amateurs. You need to be savvy with computer operation, how to run the command line and the implications of the parameters that you set through the commands. You can convert a bunch of PDFs at a time too. You could set multiple parameters in one single command line. The utility has the capacity to generate grayscale, monochrome, and true color image files. You can extract images if they do not have underlying text. Font and vector anti-aliasing can be enabled/disabled. You could enable/disable dithering too. This is a good product, has useful features and could be handy in the areas mentioned above.
